What the treatment does
Oil planing gently exfoliates the skin by removing the top layer of dead skin cells and surface oils, which helps topical products penetrate more evenly. In our combined treatment the esthetician performs the planing step alongside a customized facial approach to support hydration and address visible texture without aggressive resurfacing.
By clearing surface material, creams and serums applied immediately afterward can spread and absorb more consistently across the skin. Clients typically notice a smoother feel and increased immediate softness; individual responses vary, and ongoing home care influences how long those improvements are maintained.
During your facial appointment
Oil planing is added to your facial as a focused step; at Radiance we allot 15 minutes for the oil planing portion. The esthetician will assess your skin, perform the planing movement, and follow with hydrating serums and a mask as part of the facial sequence to support comfort and balance.
Appointments take place in a calm treatment room at our West 79th Street corridor location in Overland Park. We review sensitivity, recent products or procedures, and adjust pressure and product choices during the session so the treatment aligns with your comfort and skin condition.
