Get answers to common questions about Dermaplaning Facial (formerly known as The Oxygen Facial).
Most clients report little to no pain; dermaplaning is a gentle, manual exfoliation. You may feel slight pressure or light scraping, but the treatment is well-tolerated. Our estheticians adjust technique to your comfort and avoid sensitive or inflamed areas.
Appointments typically last 45–60 minutes, including consultation, cleansing, dermaplaning, a soothing masque, and targeted serums. Timing varies by skin condition and add-ons; we'll recommend the best protocol to meet your skin goals during the initial consultation.
We recommend dermaplaning every 4–6 weeks to match the skin’s natural renewal cycle. Regular treatments maintain smooth texture, consistent product absorption, and prolonged radiance. Your esthetician will personalize the schedule based on your skin type and concerns.
Dermaplaning can be safe for many sensitive skin types when performed gently, but it's not suitable for active cystic acne, open wounds, or severe rosacea. A consultation will determine if an alternative or modified treatment is safer.
No—dermaplaning does not change hair thickness, color, or growth rate. It removes vellus hair at the surface, and regrowth maintains the same texture. Hair may appear blunt initially, but it will soften as it grows out.
After treatment, avoid harsh exfoliants, retinoids, and direct sun exposure for 48–72 hours. Use gentle cleansers, sunscreen, and hydrating serums. Makeup may be applied the same day if desired, but expect optimal results after proper aftercare.
