Texture is the real problem
Color can be covered with makeup. Dents cannot. Pitted scars catch the light, and the neck often shows them just as much as the cheeks because the skin there is thinner.
Most pitted scarring comes from deep inflammation that damaged the collagen underneath. The breakout heals, but the dent stays.
What the treatment does
The pen creates tiny, controlled channels in the skin. Your skin answers by laying down new collagen, and over several sessions that can lift the floor of a shallow scar and blur its edges.
Shallow and rolling scars tend to respond better than very deep, narrow ones. We will look at your skin in person before suggesting anything.
Who should wait
- Active, inflamed breakouts. We would calm those down first.
- Any skin infection or open cold sore.
- A history of keloid scarring. Tell us before you book.
- Pregnancy. Check with your doctor and us.
Face and neck together
If the scars stop at the jawline, face only may be enough. If you have texture lower down, treating the neck too keeps the two areas looking consistent. We can talk through the choice at your visit.
Setting expectations
Expect a pink, warm face for a day or two, then skin that peels or feels dry. Wear sunscreen daily, since fresh skin burns easily. Improvement shows up over months, not days, and anyone promising a one-visit fix is overselling.
