Aftercare for Your Deluxe HydraFacial: Day One and Two

For the first 48 hours after a Deluxe HydraFacial, keep your skin calm: gentle cleanser, moisturizer, sunscreen, and nothing that heats or scrubs. Skin is usually comfortable right away, but it has just been exfoliated and cleared out, so it is a bit more reactive than normal. If we gave you different instructions at your visit, follow those.
The same day
- Wash with a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water, using only your fingertips.
- Apply a simple hydrating serum if you have one, then moisturizer.
- Keep makeup light or skip it until the next day if you can.
- Touch your face as little as possible, and wash your hands first if you must.
The next morning
Put on broad-spectrum SPF 30 or higher before you go out, and reapply if you are outside for long. This is the single habit that protects your results most.
What to hold off on for 48 hours
- Hard workouts and anything else that makes you sweat a lot.
- Saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs and very hot showers.
- Retinol, glycolic or salicylic acids, scrubs, and cleansing brushes.
- Direct sun and tanning beds.
- Waxing or other treatments on your face.
Is this normal?
What if skin feels tight or looks pink?
Mild pinkness or tightness can happen and usually settles within a day or so. A richer moisturizer helps. If it is intense, painful or getting worse, call us.
What if small bumps or a breakout appear?
Some skin purges a bit after extractions. Please do not pick at it. It tends to calm faster if you leave it alone.
